Are you in need of an Independent Health visitor?
Are Health Visitors becoming extinct? The Association of Community Practitioners and Health Visitors (CPHVA) recommends one Health Visitor to every 350 children under five years but some London boroughs are operating on as many as 2,000. With this chronic shortage of Health Visitors and the difficulty in recruiting, many parents may be experiencing difficulty in accessing their Health Visitor and securing the necessary health checks.
Ann is concerned about how the lack of Health Visitors is affecting the service to parents and young children. As a result she has decided to operate as an independent practitioner. Her services include the whole family:
- Antenatal and postnatal support groups
- Newbirth visits and follow ups
- Developmental checks; 8-10mt, 2-2.5yr and 3.5yr
- Weight checks and breast feeding support
- Feeding, sleep and behaviour advice
- Minor illnesses; nappy/skin rashes, sticky eye
- Counselling/Coaching - Postnatal depression,
anxiety and stress
